It’s been one of those days today..and after the kids were in bed I just needed a nice long shower to unwind and end it! So I wanted to give myself a little pampering with exfoliation and shaving, etc. Well I was out of my usual exfoliator and decided to try and make my own… I’m the kind of girl that loves to share beauty tips and great products that I find with all my friends and family…so what better place to share it! I’m crazy about lotion after every shower…I’m obsessed…but I have to say after using my homemade exfoliator my skin was so soft and moisturized I didn’t even use lotion! So here it is, maybe you’ll try it and like it and share it with all your friends…It’s so simple! I made alot of it in a tupperware container so I can save it and use it often! You’ll need sea salt, honey, olive oil and milk…that’s it! Pour the desired amount of salt in first…you want it to be thick- then add a good amount of honey, olive oil- mix it well, keeping the thick consistency- then add a little bit of milk (only enough to make it nice and creamy) and that’s it…so simple and wonderful! All of these ingredients, as you may have heard, are great moisturizers for your skin! One little tip: make sure you exfoliate before you shave..it stimulates your hair folicles and allows you to get a closer shave, therefore it lasts longer, and it softens those course hairs in those delicate areas which can prevent razor burn! It’s also great for your face! Beware it does contain salt so if you have any little scratches it may burn a little! So try it…it’s great! Feel free to share any of your beauty tips if you’d like!

Could you post a little more of detail as far as how much of the ingredients you used? I have heard of this before but never tried it. Thanks!

You can make as little or as much as you wish…you want it to be really coarse, like any exfoliator, so start with the salt..I even found you can use sugar..or anything with that texture to exfoliate your skin. Then, add the honey (you want to use plenty of it). The honey is an awesome antioxidant for your skin. Mix the salt and honey well and keep it thick! The olive oil is great if you have dry skin- if your skin is oily- you won’t want to use as much…but it is essential, especially if you use the salt..it is also very soothing to your skin! Make sure you keep it really thick so that when you add the milk it doesn’t thin out too much- if it does just add more honey or salt…that’s why I ended up making so much, lol! But you want enough milk to make it creamy…but still pasty! I’m sure you’ve heard of milk baths…milk is probably the best, purest moisturizer for your skin! You’ll get it…and you’ll see it’s wonderful…you could also add vitamin E oil instead of the olive oil..Good luck! Hope it works for you as it has for me!
